Our Clients’ Voices

Overall, I think this module is very enriching. Before this, I only know a little about the different tools. Now, I have increased awareness about it. Plus, the practice sessions we have help a lot in our learning process.

Ms Syafiqah Mohamed Faiz, MOE AED (LBS), participant in the Diploma in Special Education (Autism Studies)

The course is very useful for raising our awareness on autism and what we teachers can do to help students with special needs to learn, improve and adapt to working, be independent in the real world. By understanding the ways autistic students see & do things, we can better help them in the ways they need which are beneficial to them. What we learn is also useful in our delivery of lessons in general and in educating our teenage children. I hope that all NYP staff can be given the opportunity to attend this course.

Ms Katherine Soo, Nanyang Polytechnic Manager of Foreign Language Centre, on ‘Supporting Post-secondary school students with Special Education Needs’ training programme

It is a really useful workshop. Dr. Barry Prizant gives clear presentation and his wealth of experience was really insightful.

Ms Tham Yoke San, caregiver, on Dr Barry Prizant’s ‘Preventing Problem Behaviour of Individuals with Autism

Really enjoyed this course as it lays a very good foundation for new teacher like me. Anita shared a lot of very practical examples which stimulates a lot of brain work & application to my class setting. Thank you! Good job!

Ms Cheong Huey Leng, Teacher from Eden School, on Ms Anita Russell’s ‘Foundations of Successful Communication skills’

I enjoyed the workshop. Many good ideas demonstrated.

Ms Mabel Chia, Caregiver, on Dr Lam Chee Meng’s ‘Coaching Social Play Skills’

Ms Jac Ang’s sharing was very relevant and practical. Very encouraged by her persistence and standard of professionalism.

Ms Goh Mui Wah, Teacher Aide from Grace Orchard School, on Ms Jacqueline Ang’s ‘Teaching Functional Life Skills’

A very good introductory programme for SPED teachers who may not have a strong pedagogical background.

The i-books is a very tangible resource for the ECFA staff.
